Five of Northern Ireland’s leading companies, have collectively raised an impressive £80,000 for The Prince’s Trust through its Million Makers Challenge to help turn around the lives of disadvantaged young people in Northern Ireland.

With initial seed funding from The Prince’s Trust, the five finalists competed against each other to run the most profitable mini enterprise over the past six months.
Armstrong Medical Ltd, BTWShiells, Cavanagh Kelly, Cunningham Coates Stockbrokers and Harbinson Mulholland undertook a wide range of activities including a movie premiere, bicycle race, afternoon tea, stock market challenge, masquerade ball and a night at the dog racing to maximise profits to donate to the charity.

Coleraine based Armstrong Medical Ltd promoted a wide range of events in the North Coast area over the last six months, including a Charity Cycle, Britain’s Got Talent Night, Car Boot Sale’s, Charity Collections and Pub Quiz’s.

Speaking at the Final awards ceremony, Johnathan McLaughlin (Armstrong Medical Team Leader) said,

The Prince’s Trust Millions Makers competition has been a great experience for me and all Armstrong Medical employees. The hard work and dedication of our team was no doubt a key factor in the overall competition success of raising £80,000 for disadvantaged young people. I would like to thank everyone who contributed to our cause in any way.

Ian Jeffers, Director of The Prince’s Trust in Northern Ireland said:

This year’s Million Makers teams have shown an impressive amount of creativity and commitment to raise £80,000 in just six months for The Prince’s Trust.
