John Armstrong, Managing Director of Armstrong Medical Ltd met with University of Ulster, Coleraine, Students, to explain the challenges facing NI Companies whilst inspiring for sustainable growth.
11 students, 3 of which are international students from China visited Armstrong Medical Ltd’s manufacturing facility based in Coleraine, Northern Ireland in an aim to gain a greater understanding of the challenges facing NI Companies.
The Northern Ireland Executive states that Northern Ireland’s economic vision for 2030 is:
An economy characterised by a sustainable and growing private sector, where a greater number of firms compete in global markets and there is growing employment and prosperity.
In order to help achieve this the University of Ulster’s, Business and Enterprise Department believe, it is essential for graduates to be exposed to the current challenges that Northern Ireland companies face whilst competing in global markets.
Armstrong Medical Ltd were invited to participate in the pilot stage of a new Educational Project linking NI business with undergraduate students, initially within the Department of Business and Enterprise based at the Coleraine campus. The company are helping this project through a number of means including, providing a guest lecturer at the University, conducting company visits and allowing the students to produce a case study for education purposes.
Whilst visiting Armstrong Medical Ltd’s manufacturing facility which produces high quality, innovative respiratory disposables for anaesthesia and critical care which are sold in 52 countries worldwide, the students listened to a presentation delivered by John Armstrong. This presentation focused on the challenges facing his company in the global marketplace.
