Lower Sixth A-Level Chemistry and Technology and Design pupils from Dominican College in Portstewart visited Armstrong Medical Ltd’s manufacturing facility in Coleraine on 10th October 2013.
In an aim to give back to their local community and inspire future generations, Armstrong Medical Ltd throughout the year, welcomes local schools and colleges to their manufacturing facility.
During Dominican College‘s visit to Armstrong Medical Ltd they went on a Company tour, allowing students to relate theories learnt in the classroom with a real life business scenario. The students saw in-house processes involved in the production of Armstrong Medical Ltd’s products from research and development, quality control, production and the finished product.
HR Director, Kathryn Smith, spoke to pupils about Armstrong Medical Ltd and the Company’s approach to Health & Safety in the workplace. Jonny Dobbin, Armstrong Medical’s Quality Analyst explained the processes behind the quality testing in the company’s laboratory of their AMSORB® PLUS product, the world’s first strong alkali free CO2 absorbent used in anaesthesia and distributed worldwide.
