We are pleased to announce that Armstrong Medical employees have nominated Cancer Fund for Children as our charity partner for 2020.
For the next 12 months our staff will organise a range of fundraising events and campaigns in aid of the charity.
Cancer Fund for Children provides practical and emotional support to young people up to 24 years old who have been diagnosed with cancer, as well as young people who have a parent diagnosed with cancer.
It offers a range of individual, sibling and group support alongside bereavement support and short breaks at its therapeutic short break centre, Daisy Lodge in Newcastle, Co Down.
Siobhan Huston-Beer, HR & Charity Committee Representative said, “At the beginning of the year a shortlist of health-related charities was collated in line with our corporate social responsibility objectives. We then asked our staff to vote for the charity they most wanted us to support as a company throughout 2020. We are delighted that the charity with the most votes and therefore our chosen charity of the year is Cancer Fund for Children. We hope to raise much needed funds through a series of events planned throughout the year such as a quiz night, pudding party and a raffle.”
Alex Murdock Corporate Fundraiser at Cancer Fund for Children said,“Cancer Fund for Children are thrilled to have Armstrong Medical on board as our new Charity Partner for 2020 in support of local young people impacted by cancer. The team already have a full and exciting calendar of events in place for the year and I can’t wait to get stuck in and help with their incredible efforts! Together, we can ensure that no family has to face cancer alone.”
Our first event will be a fun filled Quiz Night on 27th March 2020 with a raffle and prizes for first and last place.
