Armstrong Medical has been nominated by Gregory Campbell, MP for the nationwide ‘Made by Britain’ award.

Armstrong Medical has been chosen to represent the East Londonderry area as part of a national award designed to highlight the best of British manufacturing and industry.

Constituency MP, Gregory Campbell has nominated the AMSORB® PLUS product by Armstrong Medical for the national ‘Made by Britain’ collection, as an admirable representative of industry in the East Londonderry constituency.

AMSORB® PLUS is a product used during anaesthesia to absorb the patient’s carbon dioxide CO2 safely. It is unable to produce toxins harmful to humans when in contact with commonly used anaesthetic agents.

Armstrong Medical’s Managing Director, John Armstrong said:

We are delighted to be nominated for this award. I view the ‘Made by Britain’ aspect as being incredibly important, not just for the company but also the country.

We realise the importance of bringing innovative products to the marketplace in the field of Anaesthesia and Critical Care Medicine. Armstrong Medical spends a significant amount annually in Research and Development, as a result of this our innovative product AMSORB® PLUS was created.

Quality is our top priority. It is for this reason that we design, manufacture, mould and assemble our products in house.

To complement this Armstrong Medical now has the ability to create product moulds in-house in our own Precision Engineering Department. This has been an exciting development enabling us to compete favorably in the 52 export markets we currently trade in. Significant business development is now taking place in new markets such as Russia and South America.

The ‘Made by Britain’ award is being led by the Associate Parliamentary Manufacturing Group (APMG), a group of cross-party MPs and Peers that works to raise the profile of British manufacturing and design.

All 650 MPs in Britain have been asked to nominate a product that is manufactured in their own constituency. The product could be anything from jam to silicon chips, from baby monitors to farming equipment – the only criteria is that it is designed or manufactured locally.

Gregory Campbell, MP has chosen AMSORB® PLUS product because:

Armstrong Medical is one of the largest manufacturing companies in my East Londonderry constituency.

Armstrong Medical are a leading manufacturer of very high quality hospital products and have developed and manufactured their own unique product AMSORB® PLUS which offers unrivalled levels of safety for patients and theatre staff during anaesthesia. This product is produced quickly ensuring the company keeps pace with market changes locally and worldwide.

The AMSORB® PLUS product is now featured in an interactive map on the APMG’s website, and will be showcased in several other projects the group is developing, including exhibitions and photography competitions.
