On World Mental Health Day 2019, we opened up the conversation with Armstrong Medical staff by launching our new Health and Wellbeing Programme for Winter 2019/20.
The first session, “An Introduction to Neuroplasticity and Harnessing the Power of Havening” was well received by employees across the company. The workshop was hosted by Karen Shirlow, a local NLP therapist and practitioner.
Karen discussed the benefits of Havening Techniques and how to put these into practice to reduce stress and anxiety.
Karen explains; “It was a privilege to be invited to Armstrong Medical on World Mental Health Day to teach some of the Techniques I use, to release stress and trauma from our mind and body. Based on the latest discoveries in neuroscience, The Havening Techniques, uses applied touch to release the emotional residue from our past and build resilience and wellbeing for our future.”
Over the coming weeks, our HR department have put together a programme of Health and Wellbeing sessions which will include introductions to mental health services in the area, complementary therapies and good gut health.
Kathryn Smith, HR Manager at Armstrong Medical said; “With one in four of the population experiencing a mental health problem every year we recognise that many of our employees will be directly or indirectly affected at some stage. World Mental Health Day 2019 seemed like the perfect opportunity to highlight support available, either with tips on how to cope with day to day stresses of modern life or where to turn to in times of crisis. We are delighted to be able to welcome such a diverse range of speakers and hope that our staff will find the sessions beneficial and worthwhile.’
