Inferno Reeks Havoc at Armstrong Medical

At approximately 1710hrs on Thursday 03 May 2007 a fire broke out in the main warehouse of Armstrong Medical Limited. As a result the warehousing, clean room production, injection moulding, tubing extrusion and the main administration block have been damaged beyond recovery.

Police, fire crew and ambulances were on the scene in minutes. Up to 120 fire firefighters got involved, some on aerial lifts, attacking the intense heat and flames with pressurised hoses and worked long into the evening. Plumes of smoke could be seen up to 15 miles away. It was not until 0300hrs on Friday 04 May was the fire brought under control.

It is only as a result of the courageous efforts of the firefighters did the AMSORB® PLUS manufacturing facility escape unscathed. This state-of-the-art production building with tailor-made machines produces AMSORB® PLUS, the unqiue carbon dioxide absorbent, which carries a world-wide patent. Supply of AMSORB® PLUS to customers world wide shall remain uninterrupted.

Since the inferno effort by everyone in the company has been constant and unyielding. Overall, the sheer determination of Armstrong Medical can not be underestimated and considering the ferocity of the fire which gripped the company recovery to date is nothing but remarkable and undoubtedly will continue until the company is once what it was, if not much more.

Everyone at Armstrong Medical would like to extend their thanks and sincere appreciation to all of our customers, suppliers and associates for their support and kinds words of encouragement during this difficult period and we look forward to your continued support.
