The ASTOPAD® System is designed to help prevent hypothermia and pressure sores that may occur during surgery in the most effective way possible. The ASTOPAD® patient warming system provides increased patient safety and consequently helps reduce post-operative recovery time. It can be used in a wide range of specialities where it is vital to keep patients warm.
The ASTOPAD® heated blankets adapt to the patient's shape to warm the patient safely and quickly. The ASTOPAD® system and the pressure relieving ASTOGEL can be used in conjunction with each other to prevent decubitus and provide patient warming.
The ASTOPAD® DUO 120 control unit can be used to control two ASTOPAD® heating elements independently of each other. The patient can be warmed all over, from above and below simultaneously. The precise temperature in 0.5oC increments in the range 32oC to 39oC can be set independently for each heating element. All the alarms for excess/insufficient temperature are permanently monitored by the control unit. The illuminated display and simple operation ensure that the ASTOPAD® System can be used safely.
The ASTOPAD® COV 150 and 180 heated blankets are soft and supple. The heat is generated by X-ray-permeable carbon fibre braid. 8 temperature sensors are arranged in the heated blanket close to the patient. These guarantee precise temperature control and monitoring of all the alarm functions of the ASTOPAD® System.
All the ASTOPAD® COV heated blankets can be cleaned and disinfected. Reusable washable covers are available for these blankets.
ASTOPAD® COV 150 (150x50cm) is universal as:
ASTOPAD® COV 180 (180x80cm) is a full-body blanket for universal use in any sphere. As a heated blanket under the patient and on top as a top blanket, ASTOPAD® COV 180 can be used in recovery, on the ward, in the dialysis department and in theatre.
The ASTOGEL gel pad makes a key contribution to the prevention of pressure sores during surgery. Its minimum thickness of 15mm is important distributing the weight of the patient over the greatest possible area. ASTOGEL can be combined with all the heating elements of the ASTOPAD® System.
